Duncan Hunter the liar.........

If you listen to Duncan long enough, you really can be convinced that he supports the troops. But what he says and what he does are not always the same. In an interview on an ABC news program,(second post down) Hunter discusses American womens place on a pedestal and how "civilised" countries don't send their women into combat.
Hunters real agenda here though is to deny women equal rights and he encourages the culture of violence against women in the military. Violence and sexual assault against women in the military is on the increase and his support of the troops only applies to men.
His real feelings on the subject were on display a year earlier when he helped defeat an amendment to House bill HR 1815 which would have lifted a ban on privately funded abortions on overseas military bases.
Duncan Hunter says "If a woman wants to fight and signs up for it, I say let her fight. That's what patriotism is all about."
But if a women is assaulted and raped on an overseas military base, she has no alternatives but to bear that "love child"and tough it out. Hunter apparently feels this is the price they pay.
And in a major twist, while US military women are left to fend for themselves, Iraqi civilian rape victims now have a place to go after their assaults thanks to the................US military.

Poway Democrat Club nominates Derek Casady for 52nd District US Congress.........

I don't agree with the various local clubs nominating candidates yet because there's been such a lack of publicity on the candidates and their individual ideas. I'm a registered democrat and have recieved no information whatsoever on any of them. The only reason I'm familiar with the candidates is because I have sought out the info in the course of working on "dumpin' duncan". I think the clubs ought to out informing their base on who the candidates are and get some feedback first. I have no objections to Derek Casady, but I feel that John Rinaldi and Karen Otter are legitimate candidates as well.
Duncan Hunter is due for a fall but the district has a large republican majority and no one should make any assumptions about what will occur during this coming election. We will need every registered Democrat in the district to get out and vote, a 100% turnout and hopefully we can pull in the Green vote for this one because of the nature of the current administration and the repercussions for the future if they are not defeated. I doubt that a significant number of registered republicans will vote Democrat, but I do think enough will either stay home or vote another party and that will give the edge to us.
The Poway Dems. appear to playing not to lose by choosing Casady so soon. They instead need to rally support for whatever candidate rises to the top in the June primary. To sponsor candidate forums that are free to the public. The people need to be involved in the decision, to be drawn into the process. Lets not rely on the Voters Guide to inform people, that won't come out until June and then it will be too late to get any kind of a pulse on what it will take to pull people from their backyard barbeque and into the voting booth. The only way we're going to get 100% turnout is if the people are made to feel as though their vote counts. If the candidates also work together and support each other, maybe pool their resources to sponser their own forums, they can hone their message and prepare for the ultimate primary winner to go the distance and succeed in courting a majority vote. Hunter can be defeated, but only if we're playing to win. Playing not to lose relies too much on hope and that isn't going to win anything. Play to win, expect to win and then winning becomes the only option.

"Dumpin' Duncan" "Dumpin' Duncan" "Dumpin' Duncan"

"Duncan the Demonizer"

Ever the master propagandist, Duncan Hunter spares the facts and conjures boogymen to make a point. In his presentation to the Fairbanks Republican Womens Federation he (in lieu of any found wmd's) used a discovered mass grave in Iraq to justify the US invasion of that country.....

“I was sitting there in front of our television watching the discovery channel while I was trying to put a few words together and a scene came up that was much better than any words I could have put together, It was the unearthing that they’ve been doing right now, it was the case against Saddam and it’s the American team together with anthropologists who are going to these mass graves that they are discovering all over Iraq and they’re exhuming the graves, and they were in a bulldozer-cut grave in Northern Iraq, they had just come in with a black hawk helicopter and they had an American anthropologist running the whole operation and they interviewed him. He said, “It was like this, we walked down in this cut” and they show this cut with hundreds of bodies, and they’d been there for a long time and he said, “They were all mothers, with children” and he walked over and he showed the camera crew. He said “Every mother had a 45 bullet hole in the back of her head and every little baby had a 45 bullet hole in the back of his or her head.” "

......... even though there is little to no evidence of Husseins complicity in the atrocity. To further muddy the picture is the history of area and the relations between the various kurdish tribes and the direct involvement of the US/CIA in it's foment of kurdish rebellion.
The incident Hunter cited allegedly occured during the Iran -Iraq war in what was called "The Anfal Campaign", but because of the number of different factions involved, it is very hard to pin down "whodunnit" which is one of several reasons why Hunter should not be using it as a statement of fact in his presentations and could / should be debated on it. Hussein had the motive, but so did the Kurds themselves because of the rivalry between the KDP and the PUK during which time the KDP joined with Husseins Iraq forces to attack the PUK. The Iranians as well as the Turks could be suspects as well.
Of course no cloak and dagger murder mystery would be complete without CIA involvement so consider that the CIA has been arming and encouraging kurd rebellion since the 70s and Hussein was responding to that instigated threat thereby making the US itself complicit in the massacre regardless of "whodunnit".
Even the Anthropologist involved in the investigation has little evidence beyond the bullet shattered skulls to go by and the gravesite itself was left un-secured and subject to disturbance by the victims families.
And what propaganda would be complete without a little embellishment? According to Duncan, the victims were found with 45 caliber bullet holes even though the very same expert he quoted stated that........."The women and children were shot in the back of the heads with small-caliber handguns".

Oh! and Duncan have you forgotten that the US has created some mass graves of it's own over there?
And while we're on the subject of atrocities, have you been to Fallujah lately?

"Duncan the Divider"

For 26 years in office as Congressional Rep. for the 52nd, Duncan Hunter has led the way in support of legislation that has made the Military Industrial Complex rich. Access to his office in El Cajon is restricted to lobbyists while his constituents are made to wait outside, reduced to speaking to an aide through a doorway.
Duncans support of union busting, low minimum wages and cheap tariff free exports into mexico has encouraged the flight of workers throughout the Americas to seek work in the u.S. while at the same time Duncan the "cheap labor conservative" rakes in the money from the multi-national corporations who benefit from the low wage labor market in Mexico. The profitability of Mexican farms are in decline because of the competition from the mechanized corporate farms in the U.S.
At the same time Duncan uses fearmongering directed towards U.S. voters to suck more money from them to build a wall that only benefits the wall builders.
Duncan, the berlin wall didn't stop people from crossing, why do you think your wall across the U.S. will? Isn't the U.S. supposed to be about freedom and democracy? Does your wall represent this vision?
Duncan, the people don't want walls, the people want unity and equality in a land that is supposed to be for all. Tear down the wall, give us real solutions not barriers!

"Keep your eye on the ball" The fallacies and illusions in Duncan Hunters presentation.

“American liberals like everything about the struggle for freedom except the struggle.”

So said the Honorable Congressman Duncan Hunter [CA-52] as he addressed a crowd of what seemed like over 100 gracious members and guests of the Fairbanks Republican Women’s Federation (FRWF) at the beautiful Inn at Rancho Santa Fe (Not in the 52nd District!) Monday night. For those who had the misfortune of missing it, I defy anyone of any political stripe to say they were not moved by such an interesting, off the cuff speech.

Through his powerful words and gripping imagery Congressman Hunter hit exactly the right notes of respect, humility and anticipation of what's to come. He succeeded in shedding some light on our struggles for freedom throughout the years and across the globe. He stressed the need for Americans to “keep our eye on the ball” and through his mastery of holding an audience, Congressman Hunter allowed the audience to understand, without a doubt, exactly what we are fighting for in Iraq.

Congressman Hunter discussed how the President and his administration have been doing their best to renew the American spirit. He said, “The two most important things Americans have is endurance and perseverance.”

He went on to emphasize, “Because freedom never comes easy, one of the trademarks of this new century is that it’s going to be difficult, it’s going to be dangerous and none of the solutions are going to come wrapped in neat packages.” He spoke about the need to stay on course, saying, “We’re a nation that is used to a six day war or a seven day war, where American troops sail out to ticker tape parades, and they come back in a couple of days triumphant. Well some things take longer.”

He illustrated this point by reminding the audience that during the Cold War, when the Soviet Union took advantage of President Reagan’s low poll numbers by moving in SS 20 missiles and surrounded Western Europe including Germany and France, in response, Reagan starting moving out with our Ground Launch Cruise Missiles and Pershing II missiles to offset what the Soviets were trying to do; intimidate us. He talked about the massive demonstrations against the US, and against Reagan going on not only in America, but even in Europe due to our actions. He said “Every lefty that didn’t have a job was out there on the street” drawing much laughter from the packed crowd. “But he [Reagan] stood tall and said No.” He continued, “And then after a while, The Russians decided they wanted to talk, and we didn’t talk about offsetting our forces, or leaving each other alone, or, you stay out of my backyard and I’ll stay out of yours. We talked instead about the disassembling of the Soviet Empire, but that wasn’t easy, and this won’t be easy either.” He added, “The point is we persevered with the Soviet Union when it was tough, and we achieved our purpose.”

Congressman Hunter continued illustrating how we helped sprout fragile democracies in El Salvador and in Nicaragua, both places that would have communist regimes were it not for the perseverance of the United States. He said, “Those were times when Americans prevailed and Conservatives prevailed in struggles for freedom when it was tough. And this one is similarly tough.” This is when the congressman said, “American liberals like everything about the struggle for freedom except the struggle!”

But perhaps the most gripping part of the Congressman’s speech was when he spoke about what he saw being slowly discovered in Iraq. He said:

He said “Every mother had a 45 bullet hole in the back of her head and every little baby had a 45 bullet hole in the back of his or her head.”

The crowded room was silent. “Now that is what we’re getting rid of in Iraq.” He said. “So my point is, we need to keep our eye on the ball.” He continued, “We have a chance here of having established in this country, not a perfect government, but a government with a modicum of Democracy.”

Towards the end of his inspiring and uplifting talk, the Congressman offered these words, “I want to leave you with one other thing, you know the people who haven’t been affected by the polls? The people wearing the uniform of the United States.”

“We’ve got to tell them over and over and over again that what their giving to us, is value added. And you have to do that every time you see a person in uniform, because there aren’t going to be any ticker tape parades when they come back. There’s not going to be any surrender on the Battleship Missouri. There’s going to be a long war against terrorism and we’ve got to tell those people that wear the uniform of the United States that we appreciate what they’re doing.” he urged.

The thought-stimulating speech concluded with the Congressman telling us about his optimism, and how by shielding fledgling democracies now, will further the fruits of freedom for generations to come. He was utterly riveting, to say the least.

Great speeches have a transcendent quality to them. Many days, weeks, or months later, their meaning still resonates for those with an ear to listen. His mesmerizing words and commanding use of simple, uncomplicated language will be sure to echo in the minds of attendees of this event for many nights to come. I wish he was my congressman, and an extraordinary one I see. But like many things in life, you don’t know how lucky you are till you are there in person, amongst those that believe, those that lead the way and those that know truth from fiction.

Chickenhawks vs. Chickenshits

Rethuglican grifter Tom Delay resigned from congress and left the building with a smile on his face while walking past a huge receiving line the likes of which are usually reserved for presidents or royalty. As is typical of the rethugs, they stick together and support each other to the end.

Meanwhile Cynthia McKinney protects herself from physical assault and her dem. colleagues scatter like chickens. I'm embarrassed to be a democrat. I wish they would stand up for each other. Shame on Ms. Pelosi and the rest of them for deferring to the thugs and letting them frame the issue once again.

I wish Ms. McKinney were my rep. instead of that creep Duncan Hunter. Unlike the rest of the Dems. she's a fighter and not a chickenshit!

Cynthia McKinney............

As usual, the rethuglicans are making hay over the McKinney incident, trying to capitalize on another's misfortune. She stated that she has been subjected to harrassment by House guards on numerous occasions and I have no reason to distrust her version of the story while on the other hand she is now being attacked by her repub colleagues and and certain un-named radio personalties. Here's a quote by the "vulgar pigboy"

"Breaking news, ladies and gentlemen: the US Capitol has been evacuated because of a power failure. It could be that somebody didn't pay the electric bill, but more than likely Cynthia McKinney's hair got stuck in a light switch and shorted everything out."

As I said, I trust her version but not any one of her critics who lie every time they open their mouths. Also, instead of commending the security guards as is being proposed by congress, they should be reprimanded for ever letting her get past them, unless they did recognize her and were indeed harrassing her. I believe the very reason she made it past them was because they did know who she was.
This incident should never have occured anyway. It is absolutely stupid that our representatives are still being identified by their little pins. Why, are they still using pins? The technology for digital fingerprint and iris scan identification has been around for years now. Why hasn't the party that is supposedly so much better at american security invested in that technology to protect our elected representatives?
And when they ridicule her, have they forgotten that she represents the tens of thousands of people that voted for her in a democratic election?

Rats jump ship........

The rats are jumping from the good ship "Katherine Harris", is Duncan next?

Bye bye blackbird
Pack up all your cares and woe,
you're gonna go, you're getting low,
bye bye blackbird.
Where somebody shines the light,
you're gonna run away in fright,
bye bye blackbird.

Dumpin' Duncan is gonna be with some good company there in the jailhouse with his buddies Duke and Katherine and Jack and the rest of the old gang. Soon to be joined by the whole rest of the Pushers.

We have met the enemy...........

I guess we always were the enemy.....according to them.
Knowing and sharing the truth soon won't be good enough because we are going to be shut down. Attacked by our own government.
War on commies, war on drugs, war on terrorism...war on truth?
We will need to establish new lines on communication in our own little war against the warmongers because the internet is soon to go bye bye.

Dead......but not forgotten

"Pardon me?"

 Steppenwolf
"The Pusher"

You know I smoked a lot of grass, Oh Lord
And I popped a lot of pills
But I've never touched nothing
That my spirit could kill
You know I see a lot of people walkin' round
With tombstones in their eyes
But the pusher don't care
If you live or if you die
God damn on the pusher
God damn, hey hey, the pusher
I said God damn
God damn the pusher man

You know the dealer
The dealer is a man
With lots of grass in his hand
But the pusher is a monster
Good God, he's my natural man
The dealer, oh nickel Lord,
sells you lots of sweet dreams
But the pusher takes your body
And he leaves your mind to screen
God damn the pusher
God damn
God damn the pusher
I said God damn God, God damn the pusher man

When if I were the president of this land
I'd declare total war on the pusher man
I'd cut him if he stands and
I'd shoot him if he run
I'd kill him with my Bible
And my razor and my gun
God damn
Oh, the pusher
God damn the pusher
I said God damn
God damm the pusher man
So what does Casper Weinberger have to do with the pusher man? Well, Casper was a very influential person with many friends in high places and it wouldn't be fair for his recent passing away to go without noting.
He and his friends have a very rich and important place in history and so without further delay, lets let poet Allen Ginsberg tell his and their stories.............

CIA Dope Calypso
by Allen Ginsberg, 1972

In nineteen hundred forty-nine
China was won by Mao Tse-tung
Chiang Kai Shek's army ran away
They were waiting there in Thailand yesterday

Supported by the CIA
Pushing junk down Thailand way

First they stole from the Meo Tribes
Up in the hills they started taking bribes
Then they sent their soldiers up to Shan
Collecting opium to send to The Man

Pushing junk in Bangkok yesterday
Supported by the CIA

Brought their jam on mule trains down
To Chiang Mai that's a railroad town
Sold it next to the police chief's brain
He took it to town on the choochoo train
Trafficking dope to Bangkok all day
Supported by the CIA

The policeman's name was Mr. Phao
He peddled dope grand scale and how
Chief of border customs paid
By Central Intelligence's U.S. aid

The whole operation, Newspapers say
Supported by the CIA

He got so sloppy and peddled so loose
He busted himself and cooked his own goose
Took the reward for the opium load
Seizing his own haul which same he resold

Big time pusher for a decade turned grey
Working for the CIA

Touby Lyfong he worked for the French
A big fat man liked to dine & wench
Prince of the Meos he grew black mud
Till opium flowed through the land like a flood

Communists came and chased the French away
So Touby took a job with the CIA

The whole operation fell in to chaos
Till U.S. intelligence came in to Laos

I'll tell you no lie I'm a true American
Our big pusher there was Phoumi Nosavan

All them Princes in a power play
But Phoumi was the man for the CIA

And his best friend General Vang Pao
Ran the Meo army like a sacred cow
Helicopter smugglers filled Long Cheng's bars
In Xieng Quang province on the Plain of Jars

It started in secret they were fighting yesterday
Clandestine secret army of the CIA

All through the Sixties the dope flew free
Thru Tan Son Nhut Saigon to Marshall Ky
Air America followed through
Transporting comfiture for President Thieu

All these Dealers were decades and yesterday
The Indochinese mob of the U.S. CIA

Operation Haylift Offisir Wm Colby
Saw Marshall Ky fly opium Mr. Mustard told me
Indochina desk he was Chief of Dirty Tricks
"Hitch-hiking" with dope pushers was how he got his fix

Subsidizing the traffickers to drive the Reds away
Till Colby was the head of the CIA

N.S.A. Dope Calypso, February 1990

Mexcity drugstore table, giant sexfiend in black spats
Sticks knife in a plump faggot's sportscoat seam;
at Teotihuacan in blue sunlight, I slap my blond nephew
got lost on the Moon Pyramid.

Richard Secord and Oliver North
Hated Sandinistas whatever they were worth
They peddled for the Contras to ease their pain
The couldn't sell Congress so Contras sold Cocaine

They discovered Noriega only yesterday
Nancy Reagan & the CIA

New York on the stairway, the dumbed
whitefaced Junkie pulls a knife
and stares -- the victim
gasps, "oh come off it" & a sixpack
of cokebottles
bounces down worn black steps, in
Vietnam plastic fire
Streams down phantom cheeks
sprayed over planet television --

Milian told Congress three million coke bucks
Went to Felix Rodriguez CIA muck-a-muck
To give to the Contras only Hush Hush Hush
Except for Donald Gregg & his boss George Bush

It was buried in the papers only yesterday
When Bush was Drug Czar, USA

Adrenalin runs in armpits from Los Angeles
to Paris, Harlem & Cannes
explode, Sunset Strip & Sorbonne
are crowded with angels
armed with gasmasks and Acid,
& Angry Democrats gather in Chicago
fantasizing armies running
thru Sewers sprayed with Mace.

Now Felix met Bush in his office many times
They didn't talk business, drank lemon & limes
Or maybe drank coffee or smoked a cigarette
But cocaine traffic they remembered to forget

It was buried in the papers on yesterday
With Bush Vice President, USA

I walk up Avenida Juarez, over
cobbled shadows, blue tiled streetlamps
lighting Sanborns' arcades, behind me violent
chic fairy gangsters with bloody hands
hustle after midnight to cut my throat from
its beard.

Now coke and grass were exchanged for guns
On a border airfield that John Hull runs
Or used to run till his Costa Rican bust
As a CIA spy trading Contra coke dust

It was featured in the papers only yesterday
And Bush is in the White House of the USA
