Obama gets an A-

Obama got it right today going after the evangelicals. It's about time one of the candidates brought the issue to light and I agree with him 100%.

"Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and faith started being used to drive us apart," the Democratic presidential candidate said in a 30-minute speech before the national meeting of the United Church of Christ.
"Faith got hijacked, partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, all too eager to exploit what divides us," the Illinois senator said.
"At every opportunity, they've told evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values and dislike their church, while suggesting to the rest of the country that religious Americans care only about issues like abortion and gay marriage, school prayer and intelligent design," according to an advance copy of his speech.
More here......

He still hasn't convinced me to vote for him though..........
I don't consider a persons religious beliefs to be a qualification for public office, although sometimes it can be a disqualifier if their beliefs hinder their ability to legislate in a secular manner. It would be nice to see a candidate put that one on the table.......next to impeachment.

Whose government????????????

So the rethugs blocked a Senate no confidence vote today on the great Gonzo (here)
and bush was quoted as saying........

"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government," Bush said in Sofia, Bulgaria, the last stop on a weeklong visit to Europe.

Ok, what was that?

"They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government," Bush said in Sofia, Bulgaria, the last stop on a weeklong visit to Europe.

Whose government?

Yeah he probably meant to say "his administration",
but what came out of his mouth was very likely what he meant.
Arrest the bastard!
Arrest Bush!
Arrest Bush!
Arrest Bush!

Not !!!!!!!!

I went to work last week and discovered this bad boy parked in the front of my shop. This guys rig was taking up at least 5 if not 6 parking spaces in an area where parking is at a premium and people who work in the local shops sometimes have to park 2 or 3 blocks away.
So maybe the driver doesn't think "Jesus Christ" is a swear word but I'm betting there were at least a few disgruntled workers who drove by that thing thinking.............
"Jesus Christ where the fuck am I going to park"
???????????????????????????????????????????

Go Dirt Diva

You know, you can find heroes or sheroes in a lot of different places and this lady is one of them although if you want to find her you'll have to look on the Pacific Coast Trail. She is currently working on breaking the record for hiking the length of the trail from the Mexican border to the Canadian border in 78 days. I have been to parts of the trail which basically runs through the deserts and mountains and what she is attempting would break most people. Beautiful country but very tough. You can keep track of her if you like here, and you can visit her regular blog here to check out some of the preparations she went through before she left.
