Get out............

I've been seeing all sorts of news in the last few weeks of atrocities commited by the Israeli government against the Palestinians in Gaza and more recently in Lebanon and I have to say that I am very very sick of it. I know they havn't sent anyone to the gas chambers yet but what they are doing compares very well with actions taken by Gengis Khan, Attilla the Hun and the Nazis. Destroying civilian infrastructure, bulldozing farms and orchards, kidnapping and killing Palestinian government officials is not justified by the kidnapping of 1 Israeli soldier. The Israeli's are guilty of genocide just as we in the US are guilty of the same. The US should immediately stop all aid to Israel and that includes the sale of jet fuel that is currently being negotiated. Punishing civilians for the actions taken by a militaristic minority is not acceptable to me and I resent my tax dollars being used to support such activity. Warning residents to leave an area and then rocketing their vehicles? Pigs!
The child was holding a sandwich when an Israeli missile killed him and 19 other people fleeing their Lebanese border village in a van.
The Israeli's certainly learned well from their tormentors in WW2 didn't they?
Then there's this group of so-called christian leaders who will be visiting with bush next week to lobby for more support of Israel and their assault on humanity. Fuck them and their moralistic Jihad.
Which leads me back to the title of this post...Get out!
It seems as though the grass root democrats who are pushing for the ouster of joe lie.....berman are pissing off the jewish democrats who are threatening to leave the party if he loses to Ned Lamont. To that I say, get out! And don't let the door hit you in the ass on way. We don't need warmongering religious zealots in the party and I personally don't want your alliance.

What does the picture of Dennis Hopper have to do with all of this? Nothing!
It's just that my wife mentioned to me earlier this week about how Bushco had stolen the phrase.......
"They hate us for our freedom"
Now, I'm familiar with the use of Nazi propaganda by bushco and and well aware of the fact that they steal everything and have never had an original thought of their own, and that includes ann coulter. But what surprised me is where they stole it from..........Easy Rider! They stole it from the freaks. Here's the quote from the movie...

George Hanson: You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I can't understand what's gone wrong with it.
Billy: Man, everybody got chicken, that's what happened. Hey, we can't even get into like, a second-rate hotel, I mean, a second-rate motel, you dig? They think we're gonna cut their throat or somethin'. They're scared, man.
George Hanson: They're not scared of you. They're scared of what you represent to 'em.
Billy: Hey, man. All we represent to them, man, is somebody who needs a haircut.
George Hanson: Oh, no. What you represent to them is freedom.
Billy: What the hell is wrong with freedom? That's what it's all about.
George Hanson: Oh, yeah, that's right. That's what's it's all about, all right. But talkin' about it and bein' it, that's two different things. I mean, it's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace. Of course, don't ever tell anybody that they're not free, 'cause then they're gonna get real busy killin' and maimin' to prove to you that they are. Oh, yeah, they're gonna talk to you, and talk to you, and talk to you about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em.
Billy: Well, it don't make 'em runnin' scared.
George Hanson: No, it makes 'em dangerous.

Hey Paul,

I don't have the foggiest idea what's really going on, but I think I read somewhere that Hezbollah first carried out an attack on some Israeli sea-going vessels, & it's escalated from there. Other than that, I have no idea what's happening, other than Hezbollah is actually a solid militaristic faction which Israel apparently feels presents a real threat. However, that doesn't justify what they've been doing to civilians--it's atrocious, & I agree with your point that they apparently have no empathy for what their own people suffered.

If you learn more, let me know. I'm afraid that what with Iraq, Iran, Israel, Palestine & now Lebanon, WWIII is about to be launched.

Hezbollah is indeed a formidable military organization. They formed from Shite groups as a result of Israels 22 year illegal occupation of southern Lebanon. They apparently did fire the first shot in this recent episode, taking advantage of Israels pre-occupation with Gaza. They are not "nice people", but they do not represent the Lebanese government. Israels destruction of the Lebanese infrastructure only makes it harder for them to intervene against Hezbollah. Because of their attacks on civilians and infrastructure, Israel stands in violation of US law, Section 4 of the US arms export control act which states that our weapons are to be used only in a defensive manner. The situation in Lebanon is somewhat grey but the assault on Gaza is a clear violation and cannot be justified because of the kidnapping of 1 person.
It does look a bit like WW3, but actually according to the UN there are fewer worldwide conflicts now than in the last 20 years.
Newt Gingrinch is even scaring up people by calling it WW3 in his posturing for a run for the presedency in 2008.

Also, Israel is practicing "collective punishment" against the Palestinians and the Lebanese. This method usually fails to produce the desired results, instead it produces resentment and defiance. From what I've read, the general attitude in Gaza is..."Fuck them! Don't release the soldier".
Collective punishment requires all the participants to be emotionally stable and un-attached to the outcome. A good movie I've seen recently from Germany "The Experiment" deals with the subject and it might interest you. You'll see a lot of parallels to Abu Garab and the situation in Iraq.
