The counter-demonstration

This lovely bunch of coconuts joined the march as it proceeded through the gaslamp district and set up their own little "counter-demonstration" in one of the far corners of the park. The jolly green giant got in the face of the lovely lady with the straw hat who turned out to be a retired US Navy officer. He was trying to tell her what war was all about and she was having none of it, being a veteran herself. The red and white t-shirt worn by the photographer says "I should be in the kitchen". Better than in the bedroom spawning more coconuts eh?

Paul, these are all wonderful photos. I agree, I hope this is our last year to protest war and we can be out dancing in the streets to the sounds of joyful peace. Hooray for the Navy woman telling the young punk what it's all really about. I wonder if his agenda was really racist rather than whatever he said.
