Just another deployment?

An earlier story in the paper stated that the force was scheduled to ship out in June, but they shipped out yesterday on what is being called a "regular" deployment.
They should arrive in the gulf in June which is being pegged as the approximate time of war with Iran.............story here

Unable to stand by and watch Lopez's pain, Beverly Cline, who came to send her grandson off with the Peleliu, gave Lopez a hug.

“Your baby is beautiful. He is going to be so much company for you,” Cline told her.

Standing nearby, Irene Buchanan found little comfort in Cline's words. Buchanan is five months pregnant, and her husband, Ryan, a Navy engineer, went with the Peleliu.

Buchanan's sister, Betty Orman, is six months pregnant. Her husband, also a Navy engineer, deployed with the Peleliu as well.

As the cool, dreary morning wore on, Cline began walking back to her car.

“You don't want to know what I think about the war,” she said. “It sucks.”

In my Navy days, I quickly learned all deployments are "normal", even those at 3 in the morning when we were scheduled to weigh anchor two days later in the late morning. Through all of this, Congress continues to sit silently. That tells me there's something big that's been planned for some time, and none of it will be good for us.
