Too bad
Too bad our so called "progressive" candidate is nothing but an ass kissing panderer.
Earlier this week he disowned his church of 20 years because of pressure from "others".
Now he's back to kissing Israeli ass and wearing their pin for gawds sake.
What next?
What group do you think he'll bend over backwards for next?
We liberal types don't generally have a lot of extra coin to toss around so you can bet he ain't gonna be bending for us.
The unpromised land
Pin em up Dem woos Jews
Nobody for President!

re his church and Israel and the stupid flag pin:
Stacy says, "He has to do these things to keep himself sexy for most white people."
Did you know that he just changed the fund raising rules for the DNC? No money from lobbyists or PACs. So while it's too bad that he has to pander for votes, at least he's not pandering for money.
Obama's speech was to AIPAC.....
American Israeli Political Action Committee.
Money is like water, it seeks it's own level and will accompany any votes gained by his pandering.
Too bad he had to throw several million Palestinians under the bus in order to gain some votes.
Every big deal politician in the last several decades has pandered to AIPAC. Is this change?
I don't like the AIPIC thing either. But I do think it's a positive development that he has refused money from lobbyists. It's not just organizations, he's refusing to take money from *individuals* that are registered as lobbyists.
The organizations still exert tremendous influence over their members, meaning that he still has to work with them. It's gross but a fact of life. He would be dead in the water if he came out strongly against Israel. I have seen him attempt to work Palestine into the conversation but it will take time. He's still a politician and he needs to win. (http://jeffreygoldberg.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/05/obama_on_zionism_and_hamas.php)
Another loophole: many lawyers are de facto lobbyists. If you look at the campaign contributions for McCain, Clinton and Obama, lawyers will always appear in the top three.
Both registered lobbyists and big oil appear on McCain's top 20 list. No surprise there.
I wouldn't suggest he come out strongly against Israel, only that he treat each country equally. AND bust the shit out of them for using weapons supplied by US for offensive purposes, in violation of the purchase agreement.
Yes lawyers are lobbyists and lawyers are politicians and vice versa vicey. The only politician I know that's not a lawyer is Bob Filner.
On the Nobody for president, L. Neil Smith has a whole science fiction universe based on "None of the Above" winning an American election. Smith is a libertarian, and not a great writer, but at least he has a sense of humor, and a good grounding in history. You might be amused.
