Blowback

Right after 9/11, I started looking into the characters involved in the day to day in Afghanistan. What I saw indicated that we were going to go through the same cycle of arming and supporting all the wrong people that gave us none other than Bin Laden.

Pictured here... General Abdul Rashid Dostrum appeared to be one of the worst. He was a known badass right from the git go, but we still allied ourselves with him, giving him money and weapons. Now understand, I am a woodworker by trade and I was able to indentify him as a poor risk and a threat to our efforts there. Why is it that out of all the great minds we have in our military and diplomatic corps, none could come to the same conclusion? When will we stop arming the wrong guys? When will we ever learn?

An excerpt from a story just read........

Afghanistan was not militarily winnable by the British Empire at the height of its supremacy. It was not winnable by Darius or Alexander, by Shah, Tsar or Great Moghul. It could not be subdued by 240,000 Soviet troops. But what, precisely, are we trying to win?
In six years, the occupation has wrought one massive transformation in Afghanistan, a development so huge that it has increased Afghan GDP by 66 per cent and constitutes 40 per cent of the entire economy. That is a startling achievement, by any standards. Yet we are not trumpeting it. Why not? The answer is this. The achievement is the highest harvests of opium the world has ever seen. .....More

Burn in hell you commie creeps!

That was my favorite passerby comment from the 26% Tuesday night as we joined Move On in a small happening in support of Barbera Boxers signing on to the Impeach Bush bill started by Dennis Kucinich. More and more people are coming into the fold as seen in the reactions of rush hour drivers. Later, we left the area in front of Boxers San Diego office for a walk to the NBC building.

Impeachment is so popular now that a lot of people just nod in approval, no words exchanged, nothing left to say. Time for Congress to do it! Just do it!

Henry the Ks big adventure

I started out just looking for a picture to put up with the following story,
but what really is going on here?
Back to the story......
Turns out our Ambassador of Ambassadors, Henry the K took a trip to Russia recently because relations with Russia have become a little strained .
This story is important because it outlines part of the bigger picture regarding what's happening in Iraq , the middle east and eventually the entire planet.

Another letter to Ms. Pelosi......

Sent today 7/10/07

Dear Ms. Pelosi,
Hi,
I really don't mean to be a fly in your soup but I do wish to express my great disappointment in your lack of response to calls for impeachment of Bush and Cheney as well. As each day passes, it becomes more apparent that the Bush administration has no regard whatsoever for the citizens of world, the US or its laws. It is beginning to appear as though there has been a coup. I don't know what your plan is, but each day more people die and are injured in the course of the illegitimate wars. The cost of the war in financial terms is bankrupting this country.
As a citizen and a registered Democrat, I have done everything I can to express my feelings and wishes to the Party of my choice. I rarely get a response and rare is it when I hear on the news of any kind of progress. Day after day passes, the body count goes up, the costs go up, the Bush administration thumbs its nose at any opposition. I am becoming very disheartened and am beginning to believe that I and hundreds of thousands of others truly have no voice in the workings of the government that is supposed to represent us, the government that wouldn't exist without us. I would appreciate a response from you, please tell me what your plan is.
Paul

Letter to Congresswoman Pelosi

Dear Ms. Pelosi
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that unless you put impeachment on the table soon and pursue it with all your powers, I will be voting for Cindy Sheehan in the next election that determines who occupies the office you currently hold.
Have a nice day!
Paul

Peace

We were talking - about the space between us all
And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth - then it's far too late when they pass away
We were talking - about the love we all could share
When we find it - to try our best to hold it there - with our love
With our love we could save the world - if they only knew
Try to realise it's all within yourself - no-one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small
And life flows on within you and without you.
We were talking - about the love that's gone so cold
And the people who gain the world and lose their soul
They don't know, they can't see - are you one of them ?
When you've seen beyond yourself then you may find peace of mind is waiting there
And the time will come when you see we're all one
And life flows on within you and without you.
My favorite Beatles song illustrates best what I feel is the path to peace,
because we are truly very small, each and every one of us.
No one is so big that they have dominion over another,
to dictate how to live or who to love, or to take anothers life.
To see beyond ourselves is to find peace of mind and the human community,
because "with our love we can save the world" is not just a slogan.
We're all in this boat together on the planet Earth,
it's no good rocking it or stepping over others to gain the world.
Life flows on within us and without us,
life flows on without you or me.
My petty wants and desires are meaningless unless shared with the community,
because we are a community and none of us would be here today without that.
I don't know if there ever will be a day when we humans are truly at peace,
but it's a goal worth trying for, a lifeway without regret.
